Avoiding the hard stuff, I got you covered

This blog post today comes to you from my own procrastination. Writing a blog post is, at this point in my day, the easiest of all my tasks. But I end up avoiding the hard stuff. If this is you, I got you covered.

“Ainzlie, here is your to-do list”

Running a business involves me doing things that are super important but time consuming and not fun, like my taxes, or monthly budgets for adverts and marketing. Ordering business cards and sending invoices. This is the hard stuff that I can end up avoiding.

I like programming for clients, speaking to people, writing blog posts, creating content. These are my super powers. So for all the stuff I find hard – I have Ayla.

Ayla is my secret weapon in social media and also the person who keeps me accountable. We have meetings and she tells me what needs done. So I do it. Cos left to my own devices I would procrastinate and not get as much done.

If it was just me, I would make excuses but when I have someone else telling me what needs done – I do it.

Avoiding the hard stuff

The same is true for you

When it comes to the gym there will be exercises that you LOVE, deadlifts come to mind. And exercises that you don’t (press ups anyone?) but the truth is that everything must be done in order for results to be balanced.

In fitness when we ignore things we don’t like we create imbalances that can lead to injury. Most times people come to me with something they would like “fixed” and it’s because they have focused on the things they enjoy and ignored the hard stuff.

Which is understandable.

The same is true for nutrition, there will be things that you find easy or enjoyable and things that you struggle with or find boring. This is where someone like me comes in.

Avoiding the hard stuff

Want results? Ask for help

While there are people out there who are ready, willing and able to do the difficult stuff head on, most of us mere mortals will happily do the stuff we like and ignore the rest of it.

Maybe you know this and it makes you feel a bit guilty, or like you can’t do what you know you need to do to reach your goals and you think you’ll never get there. Now is the time to start asking for help, finding balance and getting the motivation you need to do the boring, difficult, tedious things that often will bring the biggest results.

So if, like me, you need some accountability to get that tricky stuff done – this is your sign. Get in touch for some coaching and start seeing changes.
