All these health guru experts spouting their crap about how weight gain isn’t your fault.

It’s the sugar
It’s the carbs
It’s evil food marketers
It’s bad genes
It’s perpetual fat storage <— not a thing, prove me wrong.

Sack the entire food industry!!! Rah rah rah!!!

^^^ me when I read this crap.

 

What these people are doing is playing into our secret hope that it’s not our fault

 

That it’s not lack of planning
That it’s not comfort eating
That it’s not something that needs hard work

And most crucially, that it’s not about energy balance.

 

No, it’s your genes

its evolution working against you

its a chemical imbalance

its a gut issue

 

And to fix it…? Well, they’ve got the answer.

It’s a detox programme.
This pill
This fatty coffee
It’s intermittent fasting
It’s keto
It’s Paleo

 

ITS THIS BOOK THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

 

Because if you believe that it’s not your fault, if you believe that something else is at work here then you’ll buy the ‘cure’ from them.

 

Yes, hormones can play a part

Yes, body type may put you at a slight disadvantage

Yes, medication can make it more difficult

 

But do you know what you do in those situations?

 

You cut the crap
You see past the lies

AND YOU DO THE WORK.

 

You prepare healthy meals and eat well
You stay active and focus on keeping your body healthy

You do the best that you can do every damn day to overcome those disadvantages.

 

Because this IS within your control.

This IS something you can change.

 

Yes, these detoxes and programmes and plans all work for someone, but it’s not magic, it’s energy balance.

 

They reduce your energy intake.
They change the composition of your meals and that allows you to see progress because you’re eating less calories while feeling that you’re eating more.

 

After all, a massive salad with some protein is way more filling that a tube of Pringles and it’s MUCH lower in energy (calories).

 

^^^ that’s not the magic of clean eating, that’s the science of energy balance

 

It’s that simple.

It’s energy balance. <—- prove me wrong, scientifically.

None of this N=1 experiment nonsense.

Prove to me that your one weird trick defies science, logic and physiology by allowing people to defy energy balance while losing weight and I will retract this statement.

 

Until then

Take responsibility.

 

Because I gotta tell you, I saw changes in my weight when I realised that I was the reason I was overweight.

Because then I could fix it.

I could stop chasing all the false promises.

I could take control and see results.

As Britney said “You better work, bitch”

 

If you think calories don’t count
If you think that a sweet potato is making you ‘fat’
If you’d rather put butter in your coffee and tell me that you’re still getting all your valuable nutrients

 

I’m not the trainer for you.

 

But don’t worry, there are hundreds of hacks out there who will take your cash and promise you the world.

 

Just google it.
