I’ll start here by saying that if you don’t watch Game of Thrones it’s really not too late, for the purposes of this post I’ll assume you watch it.
Who doesn’t love Tyrian? Peter Dinklage’s character. Self assured, intelligent, bad ass, and no stranger to the brothel despite being a member of the Royal family.
As much as Tyrian is my favourite character I’m going to talk about Peter Dinklage as a quote from him leads us nicely into today’s post:
“Although I hate that word—“lucky.” It cheapens a lot of hard work. Living in Brooklyn in an apartment without any heat and paying for dinner at the bodega with dimes—I don’t think I felt myself lucky back then. Doing plays for 50 bucks and trying to be true to myself as an artist and turning down commercials where they wanted a leprechaun. Saying I was lucky negates the hard work I put in and spits on that guy who’s freezing his ass off back in Brooklyn. So I won’t say I’m lucky. I’m fortunate enough to find or attract very talented people. For some reason I found them, and they found me.”
When it comes to fat loss, this is spot on too.
People see someone else’s results,
They don’t see the struggle so they assume that it was easy.
They try to lose weight themselves, find that it’s difficult and you hear comments like:
‘you’re so lucky to have lost weight’
We use the word luck here to hide what we’re really saying…
‘You’ve achieved this goal and I can’t so it must be luck, cos if it’s not luck I’m just not trying’
^^^ Read that again, cos that’s the truth.
That might sound harsh, because often women come to me and they are trying and getting nowhere.
The good news is usually all that’s needed is a bit more guidance and focus then their work will start to pay off.
It’s not luck, it’s just a re-adjustment of their current lifestyle and their accountability with me.
However, if you carry this view of luck having something to do with it you’re likely to give up without ever seeing results.
It’s not because you’re not lucky, it’s because you need to change your plan.
If it was as simple as eat this, do that, lose weight we’d all be thin and I’d have a different career.
Chances are that the person you’re comparing yourself to had these battles too.
In the end you saw that it took them 3 months to lose the weight they wanted but the real question isn’t how long it took them
it’s
.
.
.
.
How long were they trying…?
If you try to lose weight for 5 years and it only ‘works’ in the last three months, that’s not luck.
That’s dedication and hard work, tears, tantrums, starting over again.
Fat loss is possible but it’s not down to luck.
It might seem like I’m trying to put people off by telling you it’s hard, but I’m not going to sugar coat anything.
You come to me prepared for the battle and mentally you’re half way there.
Ainzlie xx
P.s – if you want to speed up the process get in touch with me and we can start to work on your plan today. Where could you be in three months…?
