Facebook helpfully told me last night that it was been a week since my last blog post.

A week?!

What’s going on.

Well…

Last week got off to a hectic and busy start and this is the first time I’ve been able to sit down and think logically and actually write a blog post.

Excuse

I’ve been chasing my tail working on music for classes
Plans for clients
Studying
Researching
Sleeping!

I look at that and think

“Those are sensible reasons”

And they are

but the fact remains that if I had been organised,

if I had written blog posts in advance,
scheduled them to post on certain days

I could have had my busy week and no-one would have known!

In other words, I ended up making excuses because I failed to plan.

The lesson here isn’t that it’s bad to be busy, on the contrary it’s great to be busy

(if you love what you’re doing)

The lesson is being prepared so that things flow smoothly.

No excuse, plan in advance for the non perfect day.

In my case;

Have meals prepped in the freezer ready to go for when it’s been a long day.
Have healthy snacks to take to work.
Making coffee to take with me to avoid the coffee machine…(for as long as possible)
Having music playlists pre made ready to teach.
Sit down and do all client plans in advance on the weekend – always.

I need to add:

Write blog posts in advance.

Without proper planning, eventually, things go wrong

This is especially true with weight loss.

You can have the best diet plan ever but when you’re out of kale and all you have in the house is nutella… well, that’s just a tough situation.

You might have a great workout plan but if you have to work late or are too tired to go to the gym, what happens? You don’t do it and it doesn’t work.

What’s even more annoying at times like these is that you might see other people sailing along through life, everything flowing well, they get things done, they look great

HOW DO THEY DO IT?

luck?

magic?

Nope…planning.

But the kicker here is that planning takes time, and we will only give time to things that we find

Important
Interesting
Useful
Essential

So if you are finding time and and time again that you are unprepared the first step is not to berate yourself for not finding the time, the first step is to ask yourself

Is this important to me?

If your weight loss is important, you will find a way to find the time to make a plan and make it work.

If it’s not important, be honest. There may be other more important things to focus on right now, and that’s ok.

But be aware of what is important before you shout at yourself for not trying.

As for me, this is important. And this week has led to a lot of soul searching (on walks to work and back)

Expect to hear more from me regularly again

Ainzlie xx
