Ahh water, literally the best drink on the planet. However I remember the days where I would never have considered drinking water on it’s own. Sugar cordials or fizzy drinks were my main source of liquid but as we all know drinks like this contain bad and sometimes dangerous ingredients. We all want to be a bit healthier but how can we have water without it being…boring?

The build up to Christmas gets longer and longer each year and it seems that once the big day is over, there can be an anti-climatic feeling surrounding the festive season. It’s no longer Christmas but it’s not New Year. There are left over selection boxes and tubs of pringles, possibly a box of shortbread and some festive cheese. The TV is alright during the day and so the urge to put your feet up, watch the tele and eat the junk food is overwhelming. And why not? It’s the one socially acceptable time of year to just do nothing.
Being healthy isn’t all about working out the body, to be healthy is to be happy. And what better way to be happy than to laugh?
Laughing is excellent for the body and the mind. There’s a lot of core work involved, it releases endorphins and increases happiness and feelings of wellbeing.

Happy Hallowe’en (almost)! This has become a much more celebrated day than it used to be, although we have a long way to go before catching up to our American counterparts. They do throw all their energy into a good hallowe’en celebration, including fancy jack o’lanterns (or pumpkins to us).
We all know that veg is good for us, and up until recently 5 a day was our goal. It is common knowledge: 5 portions of fruit and veg per day to stay healthy.
But what does ‘healthy’ really mean? Why is it so important to have all this veg when supplements are available? And why, when 1 glass of orange juice is 1 portion, is 2 glasses not 2 portions?
