Paleo, low carb, keto, vegetarian, vegan, raw vegan…the list goes on. Which one is best diet…? Find out here

As a veteran dieter I’ve tried them all (apart from raw veganism) and there is only one diet that beats all other diets.

 

The first question is,

 

What is your goal?

 

Weight loss?
Muscle gain?
Improvements in health?

The diet that reaches these goals is different.

Muscle gain requires eating more food
Improvements in health may mean avoiding certain foods
Weight loss requires eating less calorie dense foods.

 

You want a diet that helps you reach your goal.

Whats the best diet for you?

In order to figure this out you need to know two things:

what you are able to do 

and

what you are willing to do

in order to get to where you want to be.

And can you do this for the long haul?

 

For example, you could give up all sugar everyday forever in order to achieve weight loss. Yes, added sugar isn’t great for your body, but is this approach all that sustainable?

If you’re able to do it and willing to try it then by all means, see how it goes. But be honest with yourself about whether you can do this long term.

 

Will this approach lead to a massive sugar binge or an unhealthy approach to eating?
Will you be plunged into diet turmoil if you dare to eat some birthday cake at some point?

 

Using this example, is it not more realistic to cut down on sugars gradually and see how this approach goes?

Whatever approach you use you must be able to stick to this consistently because that’s the secret.

Consistent behaviours lead to results.

Drastic changes lead to stress and eventual weight gain when you fall off the wagon.

We are all different

 

Essentially, the best diet out there for you is different to the best diet out there for your friends and loved ones.

And to find what works for you, you must be honest and realistic about what you are ABLE and WILLING to do.
