“How much is one personal training session with you…?”

I get this question occasionally and I think it’s time I write a blog post to cover the reason why I don’t do one off sessions.

Most of my clients come to me for weight loss, in some cases with a substantial goal. And while some come to me for other fitness reasons too we can’t rush the process.

Each of my clients has achieved results either through weight loss or increased fitness and performance because we have worked together for a few weeks. My minimum with clients is 8 sessions or four weeks.

Why 8 personal training sessions?

Your first personal training session with me will include an assessment of
how you move
whether you have any muscle imbalances
your fitness level – both aerobic and anaerobic

And to the client, it just feels like we’re having a chat.

But all this information is not only essential it is invaluable,

it shows me how you stand,

how you walk,

how you hold yourself.

It allows me to see whether we can go straight into weighted squats or if we need to focus on technique for a bit.

Is your core strong already or does it need more work?
Can we go into interval training for fat loss or do we start slower?

When it comes to fat loss we also discuss what you eat, when you eat, why you eat certain foods, what we can do to improve your nutrition, how can we best get your diet and your activity levels to work together to help you achieve results?

How can we do this in one personal training session, or two, or even three?

After 8 sessions clients leave me with information, not just about diet and exercise, but about their bodies.

What their body can do.
What they can eat.
How to get the most out of their fitness.

If they choose to stay with me to continue that’s great, if not, they have the tools necessary to continue without me.

I don’t want clients coming to see me forever more with no idea how to go it alone.
I don’t give you a pre-printed sheet of exercises or a diet plan I found on the Internet.

There are plenty of people out there who will and if that’s what you want you can get it for free.

But please keep in mind, you get what you pay for. Not just with money but with time.

If you can commit to those 8 personal training sessions then I can help you see real change.

If you’re ready, ditch the idea that you can get it cheap and quick and easy.

Cos that’s not how I work.
